Condition reports
Two short films: one when it arrives, one before it goes back. Both matter.
On this page
Every rental carries a record of what the piece looked like at each handover, and two of those records are yours: one when it reaches you, one before it goes back. They are the reason a mark that was already there stays the lender's, and the reason a mark that appears in her hands and not in your film is hers to argue.
The two you film
When it arrives, within 12 hours. A short film of the piece as it reached you, before you wear it. You are nudged before the deadline and told plainly if it passes.
Before it goes back. A film of the piece as it is going, taken before you book the return. The return courier cannot be booked without it.
The lender films the piece before it leaves her closet, and both of you see all of it, hers and yours, side by side on the order: the report lists the four moments (Pre-delivery, Post-delivery, Pre-return, Post-return), whose each one is, and the note under each. See Condition reports on your piece.
How to film one
- In the app, on the camera. Not from your camera roll. The point is a record made at that moment, and a file chosen from a library is not one.
- About 10 to 15 seconds. Ten is the minimum and a minute is the ceiling.
- A photo is the fallback, not the plan. If you cannot film (no camera, nothing recording), a photograph is accepted for the same stage.
- One per stage. You can re-take it up until it has been used, and after that it stands.
- Nothing is on the record until you press Save report. What you take waits on the condition report, marked Not saved yet, with your note and your chip; Save report, at the foot of the report, puts all of it on the rental at once.
What to get in shot: the whole piece, front and back, and then close on anything particular: the hem, a strap, a fastening, the lining, and any mark, thread or scuff you can see. Good light, a plain background, no filters. A mark you can point at later is worth more than a paragraph.
The note beside it
Under each capture there is a chip (as described · needs cleaning · marks or damage · missing piece) and a field for a sentence in your own words, addressed to the other member. She reads it. Neither of you sees a full name.
You can change the note afterwards, because noticing a mark once the courier has gone is exactly when people notice one.
A note is not a report. Tapping anything but as described opens the issue flow with what you said already filled in, but nothing is raised until you send it. If a piece arrived dirty, damaged or not what the listing showed, film it and report it. See Not as described.
What it costs to skip one
No arrival film, no right to report. With nothing filmed inside the 12 hours you cannot open an issue, a fit refund or a claim on that rental. You are told what to film and by when, and the consequence is stated before the window closes rather than after.
No return film, no return courier. The pickup will not book. Film it and it books.
Who can see them
A capture is never public. It is not on the listing, not on your profile, not in a feed and not on a Jelly board. Both parties on the order and Jelly can play it back, through a link that expires, and nobody else can.
How long they are kept. 90 days after the order closes. Where an issue or a claim refers to that order they are kept until it is resolved and for a year after. The record has to outlive the argument it settles. See Privacy and safety.
