Mona
Jelly’s stylist. What she can do, and what she will never do.
On this page
Mona is Jelly's stylist: tap Ask Mona, her picture above the tabs. Tell her what you are dressing for (the venue, the weather, whether you are in the wedding party) and she comes back with a short edit and a reason for each piece.
Everything she shows you is real. Free on your dates, near enough to arrive in time, and in the size you ask for. When you don't say, pieces in your sizes come first. She does not recommend what cannot be booked, and she will say so when the closets have nothing rather than filling the space. When nothing in your search can reach your ZIP yet, she says exactly that, not that your dates are the problem.
What she does on her own
Search the closets · check whether a piece is free on your dates · suggest what finishes a look · compare two or three pieces · explain how something runs · read your style back to you · read a photo or a link you send her · look over your own closet: ask "what should I charge for my Bebe dress?" or "why isn't my Retrofete renting?" and she reads your listing back against the suggested price range from the listing screen, and says what a renter meets (not live, doesn't ship, one photo).
When you send her a photo
The photo is the question. Send Mona a picture of a piece (no words needed) and she says what it is ("a black Chanel bag"), then shows you the closest pieces of that kind in the closets. If no closet has one right now, she says so plainly and offers two ways to wait for it: an alert for when one lands on Jelly, or a Request to the closets. You pick. If she can't make out what's in the photo, she asks you what it is rather than guessing. Add words ("anything like this in pink?") and your words win where they speak.
What she does only when you say so
Save a piece · put it on a Jelly board · build a board · follow a closet · set or change an alert · change a preference you tell her about · post a Request, which lenders can see, and which only happens when you say to post it.
Your preferences, and what she remembers
Tell her a preference and she keeps it. Say "I love Farm Rio", "I don't wear yellow" or "I'm a 6 now" and she changes it on Your style, says so in a line, and puts an Undo under her reply. She only does this for something you say about yourself, never for what you ask her to find for one night, never from a tap, and never for someone you're shopping for. Your preferences decide what you see first; they never hide anything.
She remembers what's useful next time: your work, how you like to dress, a plan coming up ("my sister's wedding is in June"). And a small Memory updated note shows under her reply when she keeps something. She doesn't keep what you're shopping for right now, and she doesn't note your health, your religion or anything else sensitive unless you ask her to remember it. See and delete all of it under Settings → Your style & Mona → Mona remembers, or switch it off.
What she never does
She never books, never makes an offer, and never spends a cent. The furthest she goes is drawing a checkout card with your dates already in it. You press the button. On your own closet she gives advice only: she never changes a price, and never compares you with another closet.
She never quotes a price she was not given, never talks about what you are saving, and never names a lender beyond a first name and a handle. Your name, handle and email are not sent to the model behind her, and emails, phone numbers, addresses and card-like numbers are stripped out of anything that is. See Privacy and safety.
Alerts she sets
She can arm an alert and say so once, with a card you can stop from. It watches what you said in that sentence: "let me know when a Zimmermann comes up" keeps watching, while "for the wedding" or "for those dates" ties it to that occasion or those dates. If pieces already match, she shows you them. Alert firings never land in her chat: they arrive as a notification and live in Alerts, so a conversation stays a conversation.
If she gets something wrong
Flag the reply. It goes into the set of examples her behaviour is tested against, which is the only way any of this improves.
