Renting on Jelly
Fit refunds
Set by the lender, per listing, and paid in Jelly credits.
A fit refund is the lender's money, not Jelly's: she sets it per listing, and most listings have none. Where one is offered she has chosen both numbers: the percentage back and the hours you have to report in. "70% back if you report within 6 hours." Both are on the listing page before you book, above the button.
Two things have to happen inside her window
- Report it on the order. No photos: the window is what counts.
- Book the return. It goes back the same day: the pickup windows offered are today's, or the next day's once today's have gone, not your end date.
The clock runs from delivery, and both steps are yours to take. Neither depends on how long the courier takes to get the piece back to her.
Keep it instead and it is a rental again. The piece has to be on its way back inside the window: a courier collecting it, the lender taking it from you, or the carrier scanning your parcel. On a handoff, tap I handed it over when she has it: at the time, or within two hours. Your credits are issued once she confirms it, by marking the piece returned at about that time; if she says a different time or that it didn't happen, or doesn't answer, a person from Jelly looks at what you both said and decides. A return video shows the piece was with you, not the handover, so tap the button too. If you booked the return inside the window, we hold it open until the end of the next day while that booking is still on; if the piece still hasn't left your hands by then, the fit refund is cancelled (your order says so) and the piece is due back by your end date like any other: late fees, where the lender has them on, and the seven days in Late returns apply as usual. If you try to book it inside the window and we can't get a courier, the window stays open while we work on it.
Handed over in time and the rental runs late? The fit refund stands, and any days past your end date count as late days, as for any rental. A handoff's days count until you hand it over.
What comes back
Jelly credits, not money to your card. Credits spend on any rental, purchase or delivery fee on Jelly, and they do not expire. See Credits, referrals and promo codes.
They arrive once the piece is back with its owner. When the lender approves your fit refund, the order says so (approved) and the credits land in your balance the moment the piece is back with her: when she marks it returned, or when the courier or the carrier delivers it to her. If she approves it after the piece is already home, they arrive with the approval. If you keep the piece instead (or it is lost while you have it), the fit refund is cancelled.
Delivery fees are not included. The piece travelled, and that leg was real.
It does not count as a completed rental. There is no review on it, either way, and it does not count toward a friend's referral credit or toward a label.
Why it works this way
Jelly funds no part of a fit refund, on your first rental or your fiftieth. It is always the lender's money, which is exactly why she is the one who decides the terms. Her side is Refunds and cancellations from your side; the dials live in Your closet settings.
A piece that arrived wrong is a different thing. If the label size does not match the listing, or the piece is not the piece in the photographs, that is not as described: a full refund, including delivery both ways.
