Changing an order
New dates, a different door, a handoff instead of a courier, and the courier's two hours. Who asks, who says yes.
Either of you can ask to change a booking, and the other one says yes or no. Open the order and tap Request a change. The other side gets a notification ("Change requested") and a card on the order with what you asked for, before and after, and Approve or Decline. You can withdraw your ask until they answer.
What can change, and until when
- The dates: either of you can ask, until the piece goes out. The price you paid stays the price: the new dates have to fit inside what it covers (the lender's period, or the days you agreed in an offer). More days than that are an extension, asked for once the piece has arrived. See Extending a rental.
- Your address: change it yourself, no one has to approve it. The renter's door is where the courier brings it and collects it; the lender can change the address it is collected from and the address it comes back to, each on its own. The other side is not told and never sees either address. It works until that leg's courier is booked. If a courier is already on the way, write to Jelly on the order straight away.
- How it travels: either of you can ask to switch a courier leg to a handoff, until that leg is booked. The courier fee for that leg goes back to the renter at once, the same way any refund on the order does.
- The courier's time: see below.
A change never adds a charge. If new dates or a different way to travel would cost more than you paid, the order says so and the change is not sent. Shipping cannot be switched on or off through a change, and a shipped booking's addresses are on its labels. Write to Jelly on the order for either.
Your cancellation terms do not move with the dates. They count from the first start date the booking had, so moving a booking later keeps the refund window it already had. See Cancellations.
Agreeing the courier's time
A courier is only booked for a time you have both agreed. The renter proposes one or more two-hour windows: between 8am and 8pm, on the start date for the delivery, and on the end date or just after it for the return. The lender accepts one, or proposes others for the renter to accept. Each proposal arrives as "New courier times requested".
The courier is booked for the window you agreed. The return is booked the moment its time is agreed, as long as the piece is with the renter and she has filmed it. The delivery is booked shortly before its window, once the lender has marked the piece ready. If a window passes before a courier could be booked, you are both asked to agree a new one.
Handoffs and shipped legs have no courier time: a handoff is arranged between you, and a shipped leg goes by its label.
