Pricing your piece

One price for a period you choose, and guidance you are free to ignore.

You price the piece, not the night. One number for up to a number of days you set: "$280, up to 7 days." The period is yours, from 1 to 30 days, and 7 is where it starts.

Days past your period are prorated at that same rate (the price divided by the period, per extra day), and they need your yes. A renter asking for a longer stay reaches you as a Longer offer at the quoted total; accepting it is the approval, and it books at that price. See Offers on your listings.

Shortest and longest stay. Set a minimum and a maximum if the piece only makes sense for a weekend, or only for a week. They bind an offer exactly as they bind a booking.

What Jelly suggests

As you type a replacement value, Jelly shows a band: roughly 15% to 25% of that value for a week's rental, and 35% to 50% for a sale.

The band is guidance and nothing else. No price is moved and none is refused for being outside it. Price above it if you want to; you may get fewer bookings, and you can always come down. Pricing low and raising it as a piece proves itself is the usual way round.

The one number that is a floor rather than advice is $10 a week. A piece has to work out at $10 or more for a week (your price divided by your period, times seven), and one that does not cannot be published. Under it no band is shown either: the number would be too small to mean anything.

What actually reaches you

"Earn $X" is the price less Jelly's 20%, with the $5 minimum commission on a rental already worked in, so a small rental does not surprise you at payout. See Getting paid.

Delivery is not yours to price. A courier is from $13.49 each way, charged to the renter and quoted exactly at her checkout once Jelly knows where the piece is going. Out and back are two legs and two quotes. Shipping is the carrier's own price for the speed she picks. Jelly charges her what the courier service or the carrier charges and never takes commission on it, so none of it is yours to set and none of it comes out of your earnings, unless you choose to upgrade a shipping speed yourself, which comes out of your earnings on that rental. See Shipping.

Discounts and promo codes are funded by you, out of your earnings. See Discounts and promo codes.
