Selling a piece

Put a sale price on a listing and it can go for good, at a flat 20%.

On this page

Any listing can carry a sale price as well as a rental price, or instead of one. A piece with both can be rented or bought; a piece with only a sale price is Buy-only and appears under Buy in Shop.

Pricing

Jelly suggests roughly 35% to 50% of the replacement value for a sale, the same way it suggests a rental band. It is guidance and nothing is blocked. See Pricing your piece.

Jelly takes 20% of the sale. There is no minimum commission on a sale (that floor is a rental rule), and the courier fee is never commissioned.

One delivery leg, paid by the buyer, because the piece is not coming back: a courier from $13.49, quoted exactly at their checkout once the address is known, or shipping at the carrier's price where the piece ships. Or a free handoff.

Offers to buy

They reach you only where you have set a sale price, on the same switch rental offers use, and your private minimum works the same way: at or above it, the sale goes through. See Offers on your listings.

Sending it and getting paid

Film it before it goes out, exactly as you would a rental. On a sale that capture is the condition record (the thing that says what you sent), and it is what a not-as-described report is read against. See Sending a piece out.

The buyer has 12 hours from delivery to report a piece that is not as described, with photos. You are paid 12 hours after delivery, into your Jelly balance (the same as a rental), and anything reported in those 12 hours holds it until it is resolved. See Getting paid.

Describe it as what it is. A worn piece from a real closet, with its marks written down. The sale is final once the window closes, and that only works if the description was true.
