Lending from your closet
Lending from your closet
List a piece, set your own terms, and get paid 12 hours after it is delivered.
List the pieces you are not wearing. Someone else gets to love them. You get paid.
Listing
Photograph the piece properly, describe it honestly, and set one price for a period ("$280, up to 7 days"), plus the shortest and longest stay you will take. Your piece is live as soon as you publish it. You are responsible for what you list, and Jelly can take down a piece that breaks the rules in What you can list. You verify your ID once before your first piece goes live, when you sign up or when you list it. Until you have, the piece waits, and it goes live the moment you are verified. The payment processor also verifies you when you set up payouts. See Adding a piece to your closet and Pricing your piece.
Your terms are yours
- Fit refunds on or off, and at what percentage and within how many hours.
- Cancellations: how long a renter has for a full refund, and what she gets back after that, for the whole closet or piece by piece.
- Late fees on or off.
- Offers on or off, with a lowest amount you will take that nobody else can see.
- Away dates, blocked across the whole closet at once.
They all live in Your closet settings.
What Jelly takes
20% of the rental, with a minimum of $5 on a rental. A sale is a flat 20%. The courier fee is never commissioned.
Discounts are yours to fund. A closet discount or a promo code comes out of your earnings, not out of Jelly's commission. That is the trade: you decide the offer, you carry it. See Discounts and promo codes.
Cleaning is yours
You clean between rentals and you price that into the rental. A renter is never charged for cleaning after the fact, and a piece that goes out dirty is on you. See Cleaning.
Getting paid
You are paid 12 hours after the piece is delivered, into your Jelly balance. Those twelve hours are the renter's window to report a problem; if she reports one, the payout waits until it is resolved: the money is not gone, it is held. Send it to your bank with Cash out whenever you like. See Getting paid.
