Jelly boards

Where every piece you save goes. Private, shareable by link, or public on your handle.

On this page

A Jelly board is a set of pieces you have saved together. An outfit, a packing list for a weekend, the shortlist for one night, a mood. Anyone can make one. It is not a lender feature.

Saving a piece means putting it on a board. The heart on a piece does exactly that, and a piece can be on as many of your boards as you like.

My saves

Every member has one board she did not make: My saves. It sits at the top of your boards, it is private, it keeps its name and it cannot be deleted. Take pieces off it instead. Everything you saved before boards existed is on it.

Saving a piece

  1. Tap the heart on any piece. The Jelly boards sheet opens: My saves first, then your own boards, newest first. Search your boards finds one by name.
  2. Tap ⊕ beside a board. The piece goes on it and the sheet closes.
  3. A note says where it went (Saved to My saves, or the board's name), with Change, in case you meant another board.

A ✓ means the piece is already on that board. Tap it to take the piece off that board. The heart stays filled while the piece is on any of your boards; take it off every one and it is no longer saved.

The number beside the heart is how many people saved the piece, each person once, however many boards they put it on. Who saved it is never shown.

New board

New board is on the same sheet, and in your wishlist. It asks for:

  • A name: anything but My saves, which is taken.
  • A description: a line for whoever opens it. Optional.
  • Covers: up to four images. Tap one to make it the primary cover, the one that fronts the board.
  • Private or Public.

Made from the sheet, the piece you were saving goes straight onto the new board.

A cover is either a piece on the board or an image you upload. An image you upload has to be yours: the same rule a listing photo is under, see What you can list.

Three ways a board can exist

  • Private: the default. Nobody else can open it, and a guessed address goes nowhere.
  • By link: anyone with the URL can see that one board. It is not listed anywhere and it is not on your closet page.
  • Public: it also appears on your closet page, at your handle, so a board can be sent, screenshotted and shared.

Change it at any time from the board itself, under Who can see it.

To publish anything you need a handle and at least one piece on the board. The address is made from the board's name. See Your account.

When you make a board public, the people who follow your closet are told, once for that board, however often you switch it back and forth, and within the one-a-day limit your new pieces share. Anyone can turn that off for your closet.

Shop my closet, shop my boards. Anyone with a handle gets both: a public closet page and public boards. There is nothing to apply for and nothing extra to be given.

What travels, and what does not

A board that travels carries your first name, your handle, the board's name, its description, its covers and its pieces. It never carries your note, its date, or anything about who else saved a piece. A piece that has been taken down drops off the board.

Description and note are two different things. The description is written for the people who open it. The note is your own words to yourself and never leaves your account.

A board with a date

Give a board a date (the night it is for) and it shows any rental of yours that covers that day. Ask Mona from the board and she checks every piece on it for that night: free or taken, and what they come to together.

Mona and your boards

Ask Mona to save a piece and it goes on My saves, unless you name a board. She can put a piece on a board you name, or build a board on your word from pieces she has actually shown you. She does not publish it: who can see a board stays something you set.

Deleting a board

Delete any board but My saves from its options. A piece that was only on that board is no longer saved; a piece that is also on another board stays where it is.
